Factions of Siflige

The Quietus Legion

An army of invaders hailing from another dimension, run under the jurisdiction of Lord Crawlius Faeruhn. They inhabit the eastern sector of the land known as Terris, which exists on a completely different realm than Faerun. While it is unknown to most, their purpose for being in Siflige is to allow Crawlius a testing ground for new weaponry.

The arrival of the Quietus began with the arrival of the two prime Faeruhn, Xios Faeruhn and Lord Crawlius Faeruhn himself. When Quietus struck first is unknown; when they did however, The Sifligian Branch of the Flaming Fist Mercenary Association immediately rose up and retaliated. However, the Flaming Fists found out that they had quite an ordeal ahead of them, and they sought help. They found this help in Xios Faeruhn, who appeared exceptionally bothered of and jealous of his comrade, Crawlius. Xios accepted the Flaming Fists and aided them; however, the Flaming Fists did not have the foresight to see what was next; a battle ensued the a few weeks later and Xios betrayed the Flaming Fists, resulting in a Pyhrric victory for the Flaming Fists and the loss of its two leaders. An observer gives us an overview of the battle:

"We were all sat in the tavern telling our stories of what events we had passed during the day. Then he came in, Xios the bringer of bad news, he came and told Asmodean of an attack by Crawlius coming from the Wyrm Forest. Asmodean quickly rallied the inhabitants to defend their square and off we went to the Wyrm plains too meet our foe. We arrived there and Crawlius had a forward position of troops which was low on numbers and as such was ill eqiupped for the feriocity of the Inhabitants counter attack, they were quickly dispatched with skill and ease. We then lined up along the road to the Flaming Fist manor, we were organised into a line and told to hold back Crawlius' army at all costs. Asmodean challenged Crawlius, who readily accepted this, thinking he could easily dispatch his foe. The rest of us were then ready for their charge, and they came en masse, they outnumbered us at least three to one, but luckily we had great fighters like Senalaya, Zacheriah despite his evilness, Concordia the local healer even took down a few of them, as well as many other great and noble fighters, we were an alliance like none before, all races and gods warriors allied in one cause, the protection of Siflige. The battle quickly became a slaughter as each side took great casualites, and then it happened; Crawlius called out too Xios and gave him an order for help, he accepted {{Pic. 1}} and he began to chant some unknown language and the sky became red as his spell started to become reality, what seemed like hours passed, despite it only being minutes or even seconds, I cannot be sure. With his spell complete something was different, then it became clear, Asmodean was no longer immune to Crawlius' attacks and despite his prowess and combat instinct was cut down by the Dark Lord. Rodor shouted out in grief and quickly dispatched his opponents and faced upto Xios as Crawlius left the battlefield content in his win over Asmodean. Rodor and Xios conversed on how Xios could betray the Flaming Fists, Xios replied that it had all been a rouse and that he had been sent to spy on the Flaming Fists by Crawlius. During this time Eonna tried to strike down Xios, but was vaporised by the runes surrounding Xios. Rodor overcome by rage and anguish rushed towards Xios, despite Xios' warning to walk away. Rodor forced his way through the runes and began a mighty assault on Xios, that must have caught Xios off guard as he was knocked to the floor and began to get pummelled by Rodor's warhammer. But unknown to Rodor, Crawlius had returned and he quickly attacked Rodor from behind, cutting a shocked Rodor down with ease. With this act both Crawlius and Xios disappeared back to where ever it is they come from, Terris or some place I heard. Then green lights started to surround Asmodean's body and strange magics began to encompass the area around him, and the an unknown cleric to me appeared, I later heard his name was Torik, and he teleported away holding Asmodean's body. With this act the badly wounded and nearly dead were healed back to health by the surviving clerics, but Rodor could not be raised due to evil aura of the runes, his body and soul forever lost. It was a sad sad day for all those who survived, and we will never be the same again for witnessing what we did. So we held back the forces of Crawlius, but lost some great warriors on that day, hopefully we still have enough force to hold back his next assault." ~ Last Stand of the Flaming Fists, anonymous

Skirmishes continued to ensue between Sifligians and the Quietus Legion later; many involving either the Flaming Fists or the Siflige Protectorate. While lately Quietus activities have been on the wane as of late, the Quietus Legion are still a force to be reckoned with, even today.
